What is a Toy Swap?

Toy Swaps are fun and sustainable events for us to refresh our toy collections without spending money on new toys, and making sure our pre-loved toys get a new home.

In June, during our Circular Economy Event, One Westport will join groups all across the country in the largest sustainable toy festival ever seen!

How does it work?

1. Bring Your Toys: Gather up any clean, gently used toys that you're ready to part with. Make sure they're in good condition and still fun to play with!

2. Swap Away: We ask children to bring 1-2 toys each, which they can swap for another from the selection available.

3. Discover New Favorites: Explore the amazing toys brought in by other kids. From action figures to board games, there's something for everyone! If you don’t find something right away, call back later as we hope new toys will arrive all day.

   
   

What can you swap?

We ask that you only bring toys that are in good condition and that you would be happy to take away.

Why are we swapping?

Children love their toys, and their planet. They don’t want one to pollute the other - but toys are the world’s most plastic-intensive industry, with a carbon footprint equivalent to deforesting 1 billion trees!

Most toys don’t even get played with all that much, and when we’re finished with them, used toys can be difficult to rehome and are rarely recyclable.

A very powerful way to make toys sustainable is to use the toys that exist for much longer.

Swapping is an amazing way to do this!
