Circular Economy Event

With the theme "Change One Thing", One Westport hopes to encourage everyone to change one thing and accelerate the transition to the circular economy for a more sustainable future. Find out more about why we are hosting this event here.

The event will kick of at 10am and will invite everyone to explore the 10 Rs of a Circular Economy: Refuse, Rethink, Repurpose, Reuse, Reduce, Remanufacture, Recycle, Repair, Refurbish and Recover.

Toy and Clothes Swap

There will be a clothes and toy swap at the event so we encourage you to actively participate by bringing items (clean and in great condition only please!) throughout the day to swap and Reuse.

Bicycle Repair Workshop

Tom Vamos will host two bike Repair workshops during the day (a practical demonstration) at 11am and 12pm. Come along and learn the basics of bicycle maintenance.

Clothes Repair Station

Visit our Repair stand where we will have a clothes repair station set up. Bring something that is in need of repair - simple repairs such as hems, tears, buttons, patches, etc. can be done on the day, or we can chat to you about how and where to get your repair done.

Exhibitions

On the day, each of the 10 Rs will have an exhibit to demonstrate what they are about and what individuals can do to change one thing. Exhibitors will include Mayo County Council, Barterchain, Pax Wholefoods, SEAI, Rediscovery Centre, Westport Tidy Towns and more.

Speakers and Panel Discussions

From 1-4pm, there will be a series of speakers and panel discussions on the topics of food and energy. A full list and schedule is available here.
